diagnosing, managing, and treating diseases of the eyes.
In December 2004, Dr. Stickel became a Fellow of the American Academy of
Optometry (FAAO). This is an advanced optometric certification that has been

complex conditions they have treated.
Dr. Stickel is a graduate of the Indiana University School of Optometry. At the
University, he was a four-year member and president of Beta Sigma Kappa, the
Optometric Honor Society. He was also named an Edwards Fellow and Chancellor’s
Scholar for excellence in academic achievement and community service. Dr.
Stickel’s studies of contact lenses won several national and University awards
for student research, and his work has been published in several scientific
journals. He has trained with specialists in many areas of medical eye care
including cataract surgery, laser eye surgery, and diseases of the retina and
cornea.
Dr. Stickel is a member of the American Academy of Optometry, the American
Optometric Association, the Missouri Optometric Association, and the St. Louis
Optometric Association.
Dr. Stickel and his wife recently became proud parents to a son.
