Dr. Daniel J. Watson is a comprehensive ophthalmologist and surgeon. He is a native of Minnesota and first moved to the area to attend Saint Louis University for his Bachelor of Science degree. Subsequently, he went to Loyola University Chicago where he received his medical degree. He then completed his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Minnesota.
Throughout his training, Dr. Watson has been recognized for his kind chair-side manner, thoroughness, diagnostic accuracy, and precise surgical skills. He has been involved in a number of research studies and publications and has received awards based on his service and contribution to the community. He has held a number of leadership roles including that of chief resident during his intern year.
Dr. Watson knew he wanted to enter eyecare as early as high school. He spent many of his formative years volunteering for Minnesota State Services for the Blind, Salvation Army Clinics, Special Olympics, and working as an optometric technician.
He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, and the St. Louis Ophthalmological Society.
Dr. Watson and his wife are happy to be back in the St. Louis area. He enjoys hiking, outdoor activities, and exploring new areas of the city he has learned to love.
