PRK and Epi-LASIK are alternative laser refractive procedures most commonly used to treat patients who have thinner corneas. With PRK, the laser pulses are applied directly to the surface of the cornea without first creating a flap. More than 90 percent of people who have LASIK achieve between 20/20 and 20/40 vision without the need for glasses or contact lenses.
